The Parish Community and the Pastoral Council

St Anne's Church, Ormskirk

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is made up of the Parish clergy and up to 8 parishioners who will usually serve 3 years, although in some circumstances that may be extended for a further 12 months.

Photographs of current PPC members are on the church notice board at the church entrance and are also posted below.

The Role of the Pastoral Council

Our role as Pastoral Council is to help the Parish to continually focus all its efforts towards fulfilling this Mission Statement.

We try to do this in a number of ways: frequent prayer, listening and discerning the practical and spiritual needs of the Parish community, helping communication within and beyond St.Anne's Parish and helping evaluate the life of the Parish in the light of Gospel values.

Meetings

The PPC meets approximately every 6 weeks in the Priory.

The dates of the meetings are announced in the Parish bulletin 2 or 3 weeks ahead and members of the Parish are encouraged to contact any PPC member with any issues they wish the Council to consider.

Communications

Each PPC member is a nominated contact for a number of Parish Groups and liaises with them over any issues they may wish to be brought to the PPC and the outcome of any such request.

Minutes of the meetings are posted on the Parish website and hard copies are available on the church notice board.

Mission Statement

We exist to worship God

And through our worship

He brings us into community.

As the community of St.Anne's,

We strive to recognize and serve

his presence in others.
