St Anne's Catholic Church Ormskirk Welcoming Group

The Welcoming Group has been operating in the parish for several years. We welcome people at the Saturday vigil mass and at the Sunday masses. We welcome people in pairs at most of the masses but at the 10.30 mass a family, often with young children, will welcome people. We always welcome at the same mass time as this enables us to spot any visitors and we can give them a special welcome. Visitors from the south of England have especially commented on this.

Feedback has told us that parishioners very much appreciate being made to feel welcome. People approach us for advice and information; many are reluctant to speak to the priest or deacon when they are at the back of church. We have students from Edge Hill and doctors and nurses from the local hospital who all appreciate the welcome

Welcoming and meeting people is a pleasant experience and a very rewarding ministry.
