The Justice and Peace Group at St Anne's was started in 1999 by a group of parishioners who believed that working for justice and peace in our parish, town, country and globally, is integral to being a Christian and is central to the life of the Church. The group endeavours to work through prayer, education and action and where possible to join with other groups in the town working for justice and peace. Among the groups aims are:
Through its membership the group has links with a local Peace and Justice group, Amnesty International, World Development Movement, Fair Trade Fortnight, One World Week, CAFOD, Asylum and Refugee Groups, the Eden Project and other Environmental Groups. We link with, and are part of, the Archdiocese of Liverpool Justice and Peace Commission Meetings We meet on a Monday evening at 7.30 each month in the parish centre. We welcome new members at any of our meetings. These are usually advertised in the parish bulletin.
