Traders must, if they are to use the label on their products, agree to:- 1. pay a price to producers that covers the cost of sustainable production and living So what does this actually all mean? It means that producers in developing countries get a fair price for their produce. One Tanzanian coffee Farmer, said that
The investment premium allows producers to invest in schools, medical care and other infrastructure which improves the living standards of millions of people in developing countries – giving them "hope and courage" to face the future – a future they have more control over. Fairtrade Fortnight, this year from 26 February - 11 March, is an annual promotional campaign of the Fairtrade Foundation that highlights the work of the Fairtrade Foundation.
