Data Protection

St Anne's Church, Ormskirk

St. Anne's Parish, Ormskirk comes under the Douai Abbey Parishes Trust (DAPT).

As an organisation the DAPT has to comply with the 1998 Data Protection Act which came into force on 24 th October 2001. The Trust has therefore notified the Information Controller that the Trustees hold Personal Data, i.e. information about identifiable, living individuals, held on computers or in manual filing systems. The Trustees hold personal data on applicants for posts and on members of their congregations, employees, tenants and visitors.

Following the Data Protection Act, parish priests are given guidelines by the DAPT on the use of personal data, how personal data is obtained, circumstances in which data may be disclosed and the rights of the data subjects.

The Data Protection Policy was adopted by the DAPT on 23rd May 2006
